Broadband Speed Help

[link to this post]

Hiya guys new to these forums and just have an important question that needs answering right away because i want to switch to Be Broadband.

On the Be speed test it states that i can only get 2.5 Mb but on Plusnet and BT i can get 4 Mb so i just want to know if it's Be's speed checker that's FUBAR and not the other two because if i can get 4 Mb with Be too then i will switch right away.

Thanks in advance...

I don't have an ISP anymore so i cannot do a router line stat check. I'm posting this from my Uni House.

Be tend to be conservative in their estimates. They used to only accept orders from 'decent' lines.

By this do you mean that they haven't really updated their website speed check?

I mean they tend to err on the side of caution. If they predict 6 and you get 4 you're unhappy. If they predict 2 and you get 4 you're happy.

Oh so because the Plusnet and BT 4 Mb estimates were BT Wholesale and the Bethere estimate was 2.5, it is actually 4 Mb too, they just dont wanna disappoint by putting an estimate that might be wrong, so then i guess i will be fine then on Bethere...?

You'll have the same line between you and the exchange regardless of ISP. I'd go for Be.

Why Be? O2's cheaper; same firm on same network.

What exchange you on? Look in http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php
