Hi -
I'm about 300m from the exchange and (currently) get the full 8Mb. My attenuation down stream is always 6db (never moves) and the SNR Down is around 12db.
My problem is that at certain points of the day - the CRC/HEC Errors go through the roof - sometimes enough to resync. The Atten/SNR during this period is pretty static.
Even during normal times - I get a CRC error every couple of seconds.
I've tried 2 routers (ST546, 2700HGV) - both report the same. (the ST546 seems to hold the line better during noisy periods). I've also tried plugging directly into the master socket (no ring wire) - same issue.
Line is currently on fast path.
I wouldnt care too much about these - but the constant resync'ing eventually pushes my Target SNR to 15 and I end up syncing lower.
Called BT and said I heard noise on the line (which is a half truth, since I only have a wireless phone and that always seems a bit noisy!) - but they could find no fault.
Im on "normal" BB - not ADSL2 or LLU.
Not sure what else to try, any one got any ideas?
