This is the second time I have typed this, thanks firefox.
Apparently my phone will no longer surf the web because it is WAP 1 (Siemens A65) and Virgin Mobile now uses WAP 3. Is this right? Couple of months back it worked but after waiting 5 days for a call back I emailed Virgin and got another story that apparently my phone needs to be 3G.
The settings for GPRS are readily available on the Virgin Mobile web site and indeed when I called customer service on Saturday the sent the settings to my phone, so much for outsourcing Virgin.
My phone is a great little workhorse and is solid, in fact I still get a full charge out of the battery after 7 years, but Siemens no longer exist so no software update for the phone.
So can someone explain in Laymans language what WAP and 3G are. Is there anyway around this or am I stuck with a phone that will just Text and Voice and nothing else. Got the feeling the tech guy at Virgin was just trying to sell me a new phone. TIA
