Cheap router+modem

[link to this post]

Hi,
Has anyone ever used the cheap priced stuff like for under twenty quid. There is a wireless ADSL2+ model with a 3 year warranty for 19.99 inc p&p available on the web.

Hi Roberto,
Yes it is new but is it ok to put up a link to the website, you know spam and all that stuff on some forums.

Just what make and model is it for now? Is it a single offering, or a dealer with a stock of them?

adsl24the best has replied while I was checking out what info was on the web about it.

The features spec is fine. What slightly concerns me is the three versions that there are, all requiring different firmware.

To me that implies the chipset manufacturer may be different in the different models. I haven't seen anything that syays what they are.

That can matter quite a lot with certain ISPs because of good or poor compatability with the exchange equipment.

For example a Netgear 834Gv4 on O2 LLU is very good, an 834Gv3 is decidedly poor. On another ISP the 834v3 can be better than the v4.

So it's a bit of a minefield.

Which ISP are you with?

The ISP is BT and the exchange is very rural so no LLU or adsl2+
