Slowest Broadband

Slowest Broadband in Railway Hill, Canterbury !!?
I'm sure that Pentridge, which was averaging between 0.056 and 0.127kbps is still a lot worse.
Where do Top10 get their figures from?

Don't know about railway hill, but the other site mentioned in Tewksbury rd Clacton on sea is a REIN issue in my opinion.
I was within the area when I saw the spread on Yahoo and thought I would have a quick nose.
These property's are only 1.8km from the Exchange!
Seen it a dozen times before my money is at the junction of Tewksbury rd & old rd.

All top10 have done is an order on the results in the speed test map and taken the bottom few results to talk about.
No one probably considered exchange location, did this result look odd compared to surrounding streets etc.

Our own maps show lots of oddities, e.g. people living on edge of an exchange area getting better speeds than those living one road away from exchange. The upstream speed sometimes suggests they are still on an old half meg product, and also you have no idea when its a handful of tests whether they were testing due to a known problem, e.g. on request of ISP.

As always though, bad news sells rather than the good news

Wimax is a wireless standard there is no widespread use of it in the UK for fixed wireless broadband access.

The biggest joke is ITV and the BBC interviewed residents of Railway Hill, some even demonstrated 20+ Mbit speed tests, they were ignored and the top10.com lies were spread anyway. The top10 results are based on a total of 14 speedtests on their own site which does not even list most ISP's
