different router setup can do that - PPPoE user/pass in router means external IP is there not on client etc. Bit of a wild guess TBH but one I would want to eliminate !

MaxDSL - goes as fast as it can and doesn't read the line checker first.

Are your kids pirates ? Limewire, Bearshare, Kazaa, BitTorrent, eMule are all tools of the trade.

Cant speak for the aol stuff... but Im raising a ticket on my prolonged BT speedtest fail with Enta later today.

I thought it was slow yesterday.. I thought it was just down to me messing about trying to get 2 HGV2700s to work together.. well I have 20 of them so I might as well have a play!

Apology

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

Hilary - it seems I owe you an apology.

I was misled by a mischievous appalling email from an AOL user just at the time you weren't too happy with me here. 2 + 2 made 5 to me at the time. (By mischievous, I think it was sent at that time to achieve what it did).

Sorry, and I'm pleased you have got it fixed.

Bob.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - O2 Standard.

Fantastic - I'm glad that you got it sorted... eventually.

Never accept anything less than smashing. Anything else is a joke. You now know what your line can do, just make sure that it stays that way.

Well done. wink

You are very welcome! wink

I'm glad you got it working better, that's always good.

If you're happy, I'm happy. I can help you go through 'tweaking' another time - your speeds are better just now and that's fine. But don't be too shy to ask here, it's a great site, with friendly people always willing to help if they can. wink
