What exactly do these vans carry?

Hi all,

Just seen one of these outside my rural exchange.

These vans differ from the usual BT Openreach engineer vans.

What exactly do these carry? Exchange equipment?

They are i think used for normal engineering work, but i suppose they could use em for brewing up in,

When you download a very large file (it feels like) these vans are sometimes used! tongue

Very unlikely that bt will ever do that, those vans bben used for the past 3 years at least, so nothing new there, they have lots of shelving inside them, they carry spares and sometimes the odd length of cable, so nothing for you to get excited about

refered to as tonners.

simply bigger than the transit, and like the transit they cover many disciplines depending on the drivers skilling.

Exactly same purpose as the more common Transit, just more space for the engineers equipment. There are larger vans around that I've seen used for UG network work.

I would expect that they are jointers wagons that could carry pumps, generators, blowers, compressors etc and most importantly a stove and heating.
