I also note that my exchange is due for 21CN by 31 March 2011. Will BT put off any ADSL Max upgrades as this is taking place soon

Obviously.

20CN ATM backhaul is 155M per DSLAM if that's not enough the only way ahead is another DSLAM and lighten the customer load per DSLAM. 21CN brings a new MSAN (DSLAM type device) plus shiny new IP backhaul.

Thanks Andrew, didn't realise that. Just checked via Zen's Customer Portal and mine has been at 7150 (8128/448) since 3 Feb. Throughput varies from 0.7meg at peak times to 6.85meg in the middle of the night though.

Yarwell, yes I thought that'd be the case. From a business perspective why commit financial resource to upgrading 20CN capacity whilst new 21CN kit is very imminent. Whilst Samknows states my exchange is due for the upgrade by 31st of March, how long does it normally take for that to translate into receieving BT ADSL2+ at home?

there are two parts to the "when" question - when it becomes available for ISPs to order, and when your ISP decides to move you over. They should be best placed to answer both really.

I have been having issues with Xilo

Matt informed that the VP is 'hot' and BT will be upgrading next week - hopefully that will sort it out

Mine's still slow as it has been for weeks, and zen agree that it's likely the reason no more capacity has been put in place is the imminent introduction of 21CN at my exchange. Trouble is they can't confirm a definite date for this, only that it 'should be' by 31 March, although the speed checker on BT.com gives a date several months hence.

So rather than wait and trust in BT, I'm off to an LLU provider.

this is not true I just called BE broadband and they told me I would only get 4 mb maximum as I am 4 km from the exchange and adsl2 only works up to 5 km
