Attainable Rate (Kbps)

What does Attainable Rate (Kbps) mean? I�m currently on an up-to 8 mbps service but hoping to upgrade. The relevant stat on my TP-Link 150M Wireless Lite N ADSL2+ router reads:

Attainable Rate (Kbps): 9504 1108

Does this mean:
1) This is the most my line can achieve on up-to 8 mbps DSL
2) This is the best my line would achieve on an up-to 24 mbps service
3) This is the most my router can achieve on up-to 8 mbps DSL
4) This is all my router could achieve on an up-to 24 mbps service
5) Something else!

Probably (1) - there is no standard definition, other than it is a figure routers sometimes figure out.

Based on stats in the signature you should be able to go a lot faster with ADSL2+

Pretty good idea that. If everyone popped their ISP, router, stats and sync speeds in their sig, there would be fewer posts all round. Naaah! wink
