I can get 8meg at the master socket, but the internal wiring reduced that to 5.8meg.

Fitted an iplate and the sync speed has improved from 5.8 to 7.6meg smile and the download spped from 4.7 to 6.3 meg

err ..... yes, that's what an I-plate does, if you have extension wiring connected to the NTE faceplate.

The same sync rate raise could have been achieved by disconnecting the bell wires through out you internal wiring. This has been discussed and advised on this forum for many years, which is why I was surprised that you, with your 'fountain of knowledge' tag hadn't done this, or attempted it before.

In nearly all cases just at the master socket is enough smile.

I couldn't be bothered to go round disconnecting wires just to save £5.98 which is what the iplate cost me.
