New TT LLU exchanges

Was reading through a article on isp review

where the figure of TT 90% coverage came up, went and checked Sam knows and found my excahnge to have a date this year, along with 3 other exchanges in my county.

Of the 4 announced 3 have had no LLu or 21CN from BT (THHRJ/ THP/THLM) , the 4th exchange (THWN) has a 21CN date. I am wondering if the other 3 that will be enabled by TT will also be upgraded by BT for 21CN, as it would be the preffered upgrade.

Other issue is to actually go to a talk talk package considering the amount of complaints etc about their service.

Currently get about 5 meg down outside of peak hours so speed is pretty gd, but a improved service would be welcomed. I know there are re-sellers of TT product how good are they. Pay about 23 a month to Orange on their Unlimited home package.

Don�t hold your breath! The exchange I use WNNN (MRK2) was unbundled with SKY and TT just over a year ago, I would have thought 21cn would follow although smaller exchanges either side me have RFS dates set for 21cn WNLNS (MRK1) and WNWPL (MRK2).

Though I should not complain to much about BT I have good conection for what i can get, Attenuation of 42 and always around 6-6.3 meg down regardless of peaks.

This is quite surprising. I know TT have been talking about 80~90% coverage for some time but I did not expect so many small exchanges in Kent to be enabled.

The good thing is this should also mean Market 2 pricing which should save a few £'s. Although saying that my mum's current ISP and package don't qualify for this pricing.

Support and Billing are always of concern with TT but price for some comes first.

This should also bring (cheaper) fibre optic business services to these rural exchanges which will be a massive benefit for rural business.

Curious: What fibre-optic business services use the CPW LLU backhaul?
Our local exchange only has CPW as a LLU provider, and BT won't offer fibre-optic services in our town, not even as leased lines.

EFM would be an option but that's not fibre and TTB don't offer it on all exchanges and notable, some/most rural exchanges don't have this option.

All too often sales staff are not aware of all the options.

CPW is TalkTalk.

TalkTalk should be able to offer fibre based leased lines at any exchange they have Unbundled.

I've actually had a call back about a quote I've requested for a point-to-point 100Mbps (WEES). They will be calling back later to quote prices which I hope will be less than going to BT direct.

So if you wanted a 100M circuit how would it be provided?

Simple answer is by Openreach using fibre. To be honest I don't know but I am hoping pricing is better than going to BT direct, otherwise what's the point in other providers reselling it.
