Started doing full LLU before then, but people had a choice.

As of 1st Sept 2011, you order broadband you have to order a phone service, and will be full LLU

Unfortunately when starting a new Sky telephone & broadband connection, there is often a delay in getting the broadband connected at the same time.

Whilst physically it is possible to connect both the telephone & broadband at the same time, often the broadband cannot be ordered at the same time. This must be ordered separately once the telephone line has been connected.

10 days is the 'normal' turn around period, but this is dependant on getting a suitable appointment time with BTO who will do the work. Last December a friend ordered her telephone & broadband from Sky. The first available appointment date was the end of January. This was put down to the weather conditions and pre-booked holidays.

As for taking your telephone number with you, this should always be the case. Many LLU providers have made things difficult though. should you get any provider who cannot bring your old number with you, put it in writing to both your old provider and the new provider that this is what you wish to do. If they then refuse, they are breaking Ofcom's rules.

If the line went back to BT, then that was before the days of Sky full LLU being the standard, so is not that applicable.
