Old modems/routers

I am currently working at a charity and we have a huge amount of old modems/routers.

what is the best way to dispose of these?

is there any use for them anywhere?

A lot will depend on how old they are and what they are

Old dialup modems will be worth less (or nothing but scrap value!) but old Speedtouch routers or Netgear DG834GT from SKY could all be eBay'd for the charity.

Mainly old ZyXel and Dlink routers plus a pile of old us robotics and hayes modems

Try some searches to see if they are fetching any money...

If they're ADSL routers they'll definitely be worth something.

Might only fetch a few quid each but thats better than sitting in a box...or skip.

Sell them or donate to a charity which can test and sell them in their shops - the one I volunteer at does.

well dozens of old routers and modems have been sent off.

Anybody know anywhere that takes old pc's and monitors? is there a charity that would take them sans HDD?

Also has anybody used a HDD shredding service?

Just to update, found a company which refurbs for schools and charities in the kent area, although he will pick up out of county if anybody is interested
