32dB attenuation should sync at that speed with very little problem, unless there is local wiring issues.

http://www.farina1.com/adsl suggests 12000Kbps to 15700Kbps from ADSL2+, upstream very close to 1Meg

Cool thanks. Does noise margin work differently with adsl2+

Anything below 6db with adsl2 used to cause issues

Taken alot of messing around to get a stable line
Any messing about would have been with your home wiring, which will be equally applicable for ADSL2+, from which you should get 12 Meg Down & 1 Meg Up Syncs. Maybe another 1 to 1.5 Meg Down if line is still stable at 3 dB Target NM, which they try to lower it to if at all possible.

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 19 Meg WBC

We received our notification congratulating us on our free "upgrade" to ADSL2+ last night.

No notification and now running at 1/3 the speed of our previous connection. ISP response so far seems to be "unlucky mate".

Lots of advice about changing our internal wiring but that's kinda missing the point - we didn't change anything, our ISP/BT did outside of our control and now we have 700kbps and can't do anything worthwhile on the net other than simple browsing. We got more than this with Pipex in the "good old days".

What can I do please? Will this sort itself out in the coming days? FTTC cabinets have been installed and we were supposed to be live in December, now it says March - ah well..... We'll just shut our home based business down then. Not happy at all.

Thanks
