Mark Hi Mark, dont panic! Over time Ive had four broadband ISPs and Im able to use the email services with all of them to this day without any problems. Get Eclipse working with dial-up and for certain her email address will be retained and continue working.
There are two early 1990 dial-up accounts I do not use Compuserve and Netscape, but find even they are available for webmail use if I want them.

E7er - are you 100% certain that is the case with Eclipse? It is down to the ISP and they may close the email at the same time as closing the account (in fact the email could be directly a part of the account).
I don't know about Eclipse but I wouldn't be 100% confident in saying that all ISPs allow you to keep email after leaving them.

An elderly friend was with Eclipse until about 2-3 years ago when she got Alzheimers so I helped her husband to close her Eclipse account. The email account disappeared within days as I recollect.
It's worth a post on the Eclipse forum as they keep an eye on that Forum and usually reply within a day or two.

In case my post wasn't as helpful as it could have been, I meant the Eclipse forum here on TBB

Get yourself a cheap email hosting solution from 1&1 or TSO and the like and that problem will never arise again.
