Usually if a mix of wireless standards are running this impacts on the faster devices, hence why dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) is popular

But as you pointed out with a broadband speed of 11 Mbps, then only the 802.11b cards will not manage that. Also N wireless is still subject to the speed drop off due to walls/floors

Good evening, experienced Brightbox people. Orange just swapped me a Brightbox for my old (Dead)box, and now I can't get through on the VPN to my workplace network. Orange won't help me, and my workplace technical people won't either, so I'm hoping you can. I can set up the connection OK but after a few seconds the message reads 'No network access', although I'm still Connected. Also, my usual internet connection goes down - but it's back up the moment I Disconnect from the abortive VPN. I've no firewall, so I can't blame that, and should appreciate any helpful suggestions. Regards.

Hi Everyone

I have just switched from a Livebox to a Brightbox and can no longer connect wirlessly to my work's VPN network. It completely knocks out the internet access and I have to switch the Brightbox off and on again. I can connect to VPN with a wired connection ok and I can access the internet wirelessly ok, it is just wirelessly to my office VPN that will not work. Orange can't help and neither can the office IT team.
Any ideas?
I guess worst case I could just go back to using the Livebox.
Thanks in advance

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Have been having exactly the same problems since Brightbox installation. At least now I think the problem is my end. I know orange doesn't support VPN officially, but never had any issues with the Livebox.
If anyone has any ideas or a work around, would be extremely gratefull

Bill

I have a old Orange DGN1000 router (Came unlocked). So what is the new "brightBox" and what is it like compared to the NG 1000

Same happened to me, no acces to VPN after switch from Livebox to Brightbox. I almost got rid of the Live box the other day, maybe I will just switch back. Orange had promised an imporved speed, but don't think it's made any difference. Please post if you find a solution.
