Your line wont be that much shorter than mine then. Quite curious!

I just assumed MSR and FTR were perhaps misreported - wouldn't FTR be 70% of MSR normally or has that changed now with 21CN/ADSL2+?

It's 80%, (has been for a long time, I used to think it was 70% as well, so maybe it used to be), but those look like 2Mbps fixed. As though they never got reset. It would make sense for them to be the same on a fixed speed connection.

What throughput speed do you get awoodman please? What does the BT Performance Test give?

It's still in the 10 day training period, so I think they're on defaults - the 21CN upgrade only went live last week AFAIK and I placed a manual regrade order before the bulk ones went through. (It hasn't had a single resync, it just went off for 60 seconds and came back up like that).

Hi,
Raising the SNR was to help improve the stability and try to get rid of the errors on the line, it would not have been to get a higher connection speed, I believe the advise was to get the snr up a notch until the phone line issue has been looked at then to drop it back down.

|
|
That makes total sense . A BT speed test would be interesting though, given your figures.

I intentionally don't have any Java plugins for my browser installed so I can't report from the BT one or TBB one, but a "real world" test - 75 HTTP requests from a well connected Debian mirror got:
Fetched 234 MB in 2min 12s (1,768 kB/s)
Which is pretty good really. (The capitalisation of k,M and B is correct in that quote).
wget with the 200MB file reported:
2012-03-26 18:11:12 (2.08 MB/s) - `200MB.zip' saved [209715200/209715200] .
Given how new the 21CN upgrade in this area is and the lack of bulk upgrades it's not unlikely that I have a whole VP to myself right now though.
