There will always be something to beat it and nothing is 100% perfect, so it is nice if two systems get along together to compare. I have been running Webroot Secureanywhere complete alongside Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 for the last year. It is cloud based so does not hold up your system, but more importantly, it reaches places others do not. After many years with kaspersky, I will not need to renew it again.

Out of the many systems I have used, Bitdefender is one of the few I have not. Like Panda before it, Kaspersky has kept everything at bay for a few years. Both consistently pull low scores in web reviews, though some may well have an agenda. The only problem with Kaspersky, is that it can really slow a system, especially at start-up, or when installing software. It seems to take ages to interrogate it before it allows installation. That is the beauty of the new Webroot software, it just compares a checksum from thousands of known programmes on the cloud in a split second.
