Unfortunately you can't post pictures here. You have to upload them to one of the many free sites them post a link for us . Can you confirm it is just that faceplate that has been knocked off, or the backplate as well?

The coloured wires at the extension are what we expect, but there should be corresponding ones at the NTE5, connecting to 2/3/5 as per the pic I gave you. The fact that yours only has those is not a problem, as 1/4/6 are redundant in the UK.

So it sounds as though there may be a junction box somewhere . How many extension sockets are there? I'm hoping there is at least one that may be fed by the two loose wires, and then a feed from there to the one you use.

The A/B on the faceplate are to feed ADSLx to the extension. Ah! Where you normally have your router?

Orange to 2 and white to 5. Don't worry about the green and black. Sounds like you have had an extension fitted with downlead.

I have white to A, orange to B.
I still have black & green to fit to the faceplate to make it work.

OK, backended then, green to 5 and black to 2

ok. Now the extension works, but when it is all fitted back together, there is no broadband.
Could it now be a faulty faceplate?
When the broadband is plugged into the backplate, it works ok.

Where do you connect the broadband, at the master or at the extension? (I asked earlier). I suspect you use the extension?
