Ignore the errors if you are stable and not having throughput issues - they cant do any harm as the router handles the errors accordingly.

James,

It seems stable, throughput is very good at 11804Kbps down and 859Kbps up smile

I just don't understand why after a power cut the router log initially reported a downstream SNRM of 6.5dB at sync time then a little while later, when I checked the stats, the downstream SNRM had lowered to 2.5dB. The router log also reported a downstream sync of 14657Kbps at sync time, which is more than 1000Kbps faster than normal, and yet the downstream SNRM was normal at around the 6dB mark.

Edit: throughput has just reduced considerably to about 5Mbps down - so I will power off the router for a while etc. as Zarjaz suggested earlier...

It's back to normal now after doing what Zarjaz suggested - couldnt really find any problems with other electrical appliances, just a small chance that it may have been a freeview box located in the same room as the router which caused the problem yesterday, after the power cut, because when I powered it back on today it went into the "on" condition rather than standby which isn't normal. However I'm sure the freeview box was on standby after the power cut yesterday.

Current stats:

Uptime: 0 days, 0:33:38
DSL Type: G.992.5 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1.022 / 13.076
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0,00 / 0,00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12,0 / 19,5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 21,5 / 37,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 10,5 / 6,0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / BDCM
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 7.747
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 8
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 126 / 8

Downstream throughput ~11Mbps

After the resync 21 hours ago everything has remained normal: night-time downstream SNRM was 5.5dB, daytime downstream SNRM is currently 6.5dB, FEC Errors are 16 up and 429.605 down (~500.000 per 24 hours is normal,) bandwidth down is 13076Kbps and downstream throughput is ~11Mbps.

What happened after that power cut a couple of days ago is really baffling?

Two power cuts yesterday due to a blown underground mains cable which left all the properties in my street without power.

1st power cut from about 1.30pm to 5.15pm - router re-sync'd at ~14800Kbps (normally 13181Kbps) SNRM was 6dB and remained stable, error rates were OK, throughput speed tests were high in excess of 12Mbps.

2nd power cut (due a permanent repair to the temp fix done to the cable earlier) 11pm to 2.30am - I unplugged the router from the mains before going to bed at 1am.

@ 9am router resync'd at the normal 13181Kbps, SNRM stable at 6dB, error rates OK and throughput speed tests normal at 11Mbps.

Downstream attenuation remained at 37db before during and after the events - possible change to interleaving depth, but the difference in downstream sync rates does seem rather large?
