My Virgin Media hub showed the following information:

Session Data Downloaded 8GB 83MB
Session Data Uploaded 1MB

Is that even possible to burn through 8gb in 16 minutes?!

Well it took me 42.4 seconds to download 50MB at 9.888Mbp/s

8083MB would take 6854 seconds, which is 114m 14s

To do that in the time you mentioned, I would need about 60Mbp/s of speed.

Try a speed test to confirm.

There is a known bug with usage figures on the Superhub.

Pick any area of router performance or usage and there's a good chance there will be a known Superhub bug or omission there - the thing is an absolute lemon.

If the various bugs get on your nerves big time or you find it won't support something you need to do (eg override DNS, DynDNS support, QoS, use Wifi with decent performance in a different room, etc. etc.) then it can be switched to modem mode and you can then use a proper router.
