Something isn't right there. As you are in a 10-day "training period", that matters. The Catch-22 situation is that as you are in the 10-day traing you almost certainly won't be able to get anyone to look at it.

On 32.4dB attenuation you should be connecting at well over 12Mbps, and in many cases getting near to 15Mbps, Not 9.6. Also for your noise margin to be 8.9dB at this time of day, on an initial ADSL2+ connection, is not right.

After the 10 days, you will have to try and get the problem resolved. You will then need a rerun of the training period frown. Have a read of this page.

What is that about your line being deliberately capped before? Or was that just that, as has been explained I think, they don't always do the upgrade of individual lines straight away. Or was there a major problem in the past on ADSL?

The upload still appears to be capped, at a value just below the ADSL value.

All in all, a mess, I'm afraid.

Thx.

I will forward this to the person I've been speaking to to see what he thinks.

Obviously I will remove any reference to your good self.

I would expect it to be over 1Mbps. You are on BT and I don't know their policy, but Plusnet used to cap it at 448kbps unless the user requested uncapping. I don't think BT do that, but maybe they do. Or it may be to do with what I asked about deliberate capping.

Strangely, on ADSL(1) the 448kbps cap is nearly always achieved. On Plusnet ADSL2+ with a 448kbps cap the actual seems to be a few kbps below that, as is yours.

Just as strangely, if interleaving is applied on an uncapped Plusnet ADSL2+ line, a cap of 888kbps seesm to come into play. [shrug]. I've no idea why, and as I say - that's Plusnet not BT.

yeah a horrible system in the way you said it.

If someone has an issue on day 1 of underperformance, isp refuses to consider it for training period, but then once training period is over the stable rate is set which of course is a artifically low stable rate due to day 1 issue.

BT Infinity 2 Since Dec 2012 - Estimate 65.9/20 - Attainable peak 110/36 - Current Sync 71/20

Ok guys, after a few helpful calls from BT things have improved somewhat.

The upload speed remains the same though.

On testing I'm getting 9.5mb to 10mb download with 0.35 upload.

BT called me Friday but I was in work until 10pm, so not sure if things will improve anymore.

Here are the router stats.

Upstream is still being capped at ADSL Max levels.

Downstream is slightly slow.
