Double check this please.
Profile is 0.882 (88.2%) of sync. That much is straightforward.
In the past I had a profile of 14,000 with a speed of a little over 13,000 so can I assume speed will be 93-94% of profile? Is this different for each user, or is there a general overhead we can apply?
I noticed in this site's FAQ a mention of 10-13% overheads on ADSLmax, but no mention of ADSL2+. My old connection was 8128, profile of 7150 and typical speed of 6,500 although once I saw 6,700 (9% and 6.5% respectively).

A fixed percentage applies to VDSL, but afaik for ADSLx it's a sort of banded look-up table?
I used to have a list of the bands at one time, but binned it when I went to an FTTC connection.

Fixed percentage applies to the WBC network but its
88.2% for ADSL2+
96% for VDSL products - less overheads involved.
Old IPStream Max is still a look up table.

So what percentage of profile would speed be for ADSL2+ (in general)?
|
|
|
on ye olde system 8128 sync was 7150 IP profile (88%) and max speedtest about 6800 (95% of profile, 83.7% of sync)
similarly 2272 sync gave a 2000 profile (88%) hich would speed test up to 1900 (95% of profile)
1460 bytes of data can be sent in a 1500 MTU packet, which is 97.3%

MaxDSL - goes as fast as it can and doesn't read the line checker first.

Camieabz isn't asking about IP Profiles, but about the percentage of profile you get as throughput. And you ought to read my website more often .
