I'm going to guess that your telephone line/service is provided by BE. This would suggest you and the BE rep are only using the postcode checker.
BT BROADBAND AVAILABILITY CHECKER
Please note that the postcode checker is less accurate than the telephone number checker because it uses a best guess of where you live based on the centre point of the postcode area entered.
When I check with my BT phone number the data is correct. When I test using the postcode checker, it says I can get fttc and other services which is completely wrong.
Try checking availability with your next door neighbours telephone number if they are using a BTW ISP.
