Don't switch the router off as the DLM sees it as a disconnection.

I had the same thing when I used to have Sky ADSL, I am on a longer line and lost about .8mbps off of my sync when I switched from talktalk to Sky (60db attenuation).

That is not the case.
I think it rather depends on the modem in the modem/router, and how it handles being switched off. AIUI not all send a "dying breath".

Does the Sky one though? I confess I don't know.

Even without the dying gasp, turning off once in 24 hours wouldn't make any difference to DLM. It would be a poor system if it did!
