Re: Cannot order internet, shows some kind of marker.

No I am not confusing anything. I can assure you I know what I am talking about. Time and time again, BT systems have refused to recognise my phone number upon an enquiry. The usual answer is that my number is not a BT number, which results in the call being cut off, or a dead end web page. This even happens when you may be trying to enquire about a service, so they are cutting their own throat in that respect.
I can assure you my number starts with 01, but BT have never recognised it since I left them!

Just because a number begins with 01 doesn't mean it's a BT number.
Who is your telephone provider?
If it's a full MPF (e.g. Sky) rather than a BT-based WLR service, then BT will not have any knowledge of your number as it isn't provided by them.

I have never had anything other than a BT-based WLR service. There is ONLY TT LLU on my Market 1 exchange and I would not touch them with yours! I really don't know WHY forums always have to contradict. My line is with the Post Office again now that they do an anytime call package for barely anymore than BT line rental with no tie-in. I can assure you, if you do not pay line rental direct to BT, their system WILL NOT recognise your number, as per the image I posted earlier. Surely there must be others here in the same situation that can confirm that.

That webpage is a BT Retail page. Of course BT Retail don't recognise your # if you don't pay them line rental. 01 prefix doesn't prove anything.

Does BT Wholesale http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome recognise your #?

Not if he is on LLU (Partial). Can't remember; seems to hop around. Certainly on WLR.

Pretty sure he is mixing up BT Retail with BT Wholesale.

Which is EXACTLY what I was complaining about within the system in the first place. A few words back, you were telling me IT WOULD so long as I was not LLU. Now you are changing tack again. It seems to me, that you get some sort of pleasure from rubbishing every post I make.

I am not talking about speed checkers, but the fact that BT refuse to recognise your WBT number on many pages and phone numbers, if you do not pay direct to them. That was my original point - How many suppliers actively play it awkward if you are not one of them, as the OP was highlighting problems between suppliers.

What is WBT?

You are looking at a service status page which bt retail might want to restrict to those who pay them.

Order checks and other databases seem happy with wlr numbers.
