I'll have a look at the settings for it on my standby machine, which is Vista and I think has it installed, if I remember later. I can't run it on FTTC of course.
As XRaySpeX says, variations are expected, but the pattern over 24 hours matters. In general you expect it to fall at dusk and rise at dawn. Mine did so by 3.5dB (downstream). That's why the default margin with most ISPs is 6dB

But say 1.5dB variation occurs during 5 minutes well inside daylight hours then something is odd.
