Daily Mail Bites Back!

Daily Mail invents new unit of connection speed, just to confuse its punters:

In reference to www.dailymail.co.uk/money/bills/article-2392031/How-fast-need-inter...:
So-called �superfast broadband� is any web connection faster than 30 megabites per second (mps).

(ignoring the elementary 'milli' error). Don't they employ technical proof-readers?

The further into it you sink, the murkier it gets.

I loved the table of examples which had GB and mps (megabites/s again?)

�For example, if you�re a retired couple who send ten emails a week, browse the web for half an hour each night and watch six films a month, a speed of 8 mps will suffice.

But they don't watch six films from the internet a month.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 51.8/16.8Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

And it only supports HTTP on port 80?

C'mon guys - it's unrealistic to expect the Daily Mail to be accurate! Why should they change their seemingly standard editorial practice?

mps - should be metres per second!

are megabites units of mastication?
