I know of several people who would dearly love to have a basic internet connection but even with hand me down kit, find any expenditure to an ISP difficult to meet.
So two questions come out of this:
1) Are there any grants or similar available to help?
2) Any suggestions for a rock bottom internet connection price that remains at sub £10 after introductory offers expire.
And yes a BT phone line is there in each case, but if line rental costs rise substantially in the future even this is at risk. I have thought about piggy backing onto an agreeable neighbour's service but there are no wireless signals nearby.

Grants - none that I know off the top of my head. There is BT Basic line rental only available to certain groups

But finding line rental that lets you have another providers Broadband service and is cheap is difficult.
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/isp/talktalk/package/1... TalkTalk SimplyBroadband with line rental saver is about as cheap as you can get at £13 per month combined.
If their usage needs are not high, then a MiFi device with pre-pay usage to allow costs to be controlled may be the way to go.

TalkTalk is present so probably cheapest big name option.

Yes, I think that will be the ticket. Thank you.

Primus I don't think goes as cheap once you exclude offer periods.
Utility Warehouse might get there, but I would never recommend them.

Is it? Samknows doesn't show it, but I do realise it isn't always up to date.
