IPv6 speed

Could anyone who has IPv6 available compare the speed of download of the images over IPv6 and IPv4 please:

You'll need to copy paste the IPv6 address as the [ breaks any attempt to make the IPv6 a clickable URL.

IPv4- a few seconds, less than 5.

IPv6- one minute 3 seconds

It's most likely due to Nasa only peering with Level 3 for IPv6, whereas they have 36 different peers for IPv4!

It certainly provides some justification for Apple to cause OS X to prefer IPv4 to IPv6 when they're both available

We peer directly with Level3 and its still stupidly slow

Plusnet is having ipv6 performance issues I think, speeds all over place, and just done a tbb ipv6 speedtest and my upload speed is under 50%, first time I done a upload speedtest since joining FTTC and it couldnt max out.

I haven't been thinking about your and Bill's posts in TTTS about IPv4 and IPv6 tbb speed tests, just noted them without understanding the issue.

I'm on the IPv6 trial - note it is a trial so exists to detect and eliminate problems, and my wired speed tests are fine. Would I be right in thinking I'm still hitting the IPv4 one?

Assuming you're using the tbb test, it'll tell you if you're connecting with IPv6- when you connect to the site you'll get a yellow "IPv6 Enabled" notification (eta- and you'll need to manually enter your postcode and ISP), on the speedtest results it'll put "(using IPv6)" after the iSP name.

Examples: IPv4 test, IPv6 test
