Got the latest Digital Scotland Email and had a look at the section entitled "New broadband exchanges announced" (http://www.digitalscotland.org/media/20134/18-April-2014-release-locations.pdf) and my exchange (Dalbeattie) is mentioned. On looking at SamKnows (https://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/WSDAL) it now says "FTTC status:RFS date set : 30/06/2014".

Though wondering if this will be a roll out to everyone at the exchange? or just folks in the town (I'm about 2 miles outside of the town)!

Whatever... I suppose at least it gives me some hope (maybe?).

Assume not and you will not be disappointed. If you do get upgraded, then its a surprise !!!!, but I would not hold out any hope.

You can check the BT checker closer to the time and see what is mentioned then.

Our telephone line appears to be somehow spliced into some sort of main cable that runs in the ground up the road in front of our house (NB. country property). I know this, as on occasion the joint gets full of water and corrodes and there goes our phone line. Think our phone line goes back to the days of Alexander Bell!
