Re: Sky On Demand Speed

In reply to a post by MrSaffron:
Have not tried the on demand since having a line that runs at 24 Meg. Don't have the spare time.
It's very good quality actually. From where I sit (2 metres from a 37" TV) it's indistinguishable from broadcast quality HD. The other catch-ups are pretty good but I genuinely can't tell the difference with Sky's service. I don't use it much because I prefer to just keep up with the EPG but mistakes happen smile

Actually if the Sky box could automatically choose On Demand as a backup source and/or allowed series links to be set I'd happily use that to avoid scheduling clashes these days.

I've noticed that too.

I'm on 80/20 FTTC, download at full speed on web sites etc and connect at 79999/19999 but the Sky box does not download a 2.5gb HD program as quick as it would a 2.5gb file off the net.

It's far quicker than my old ADSL connection mind.

Hi,

Yeah I meant Sky On Demand (the download version), does seems to be limited to 12-14mbps, still fast enough to play instantly, just thought its a tad weird hows its capped at that.
