Routing via Germany should not affect a system detecting you as a UK IP address.

Qiite a few plus.net people come into mydslwebstats from US West Coast IPs directly!

I guess TalkTalk may have facilities over there or elsewhere outside the UK as well? Unless the IP Range has been reallocated to the UK and the Registry not updated?
