Given its just ADSL2+ then this kit is better value at £65 and will cope with ADSL2+ and all but the fastest FTTC connections over the range from hall into lounge.
Yes, a very neat and compact unit they also have the connections at base of the unit which I prefer because it has less strain on the Ethernet connections. Also a very good video is provided to explain to the OP the layout and use of homeplugs.
Thank to everyone. I will proceed with the TT move and see. I am not sure whether they will start a whole new contract or continue with my current one. I will check. But I'm so fed up of AOL that it is a risk I'm prepared to take. As someone has said, it can't be any worse than AOL. I don't have an ethernet cable. I could try moving the router a little closer to the TV and see.

Modern TVs sometimes generate electrical interference. You may achieve improved Wi-Fi connectivity, if you move the wireless router into the same room as the TV (or an adjoining room) - but don't place the router under or too close to the TV.
