Dial-up access

I want to set up dial-up access as a fail-safe before I start trying to resolve ADSL connection speed and line stability problems. I have a 58kbps modem and a serial port on my motherboard so I'm all set to go. The only question is "which provider?" since BT no longer offer the facility. There's Freeola at 1p per minute, which seems reasonable. Any other suggestions?

It will be interesting to go back to pre-ISDN speeds that some poor souls still have to put up with.

I've used Emergency Internet in the past. The good thing about them is you don't need to set up an account, so there's no username and password to have to remember.

My Plusnet ADSL account used to allow dial-up access. Modern web pages are often so complex they don't work well at 56kbps. I found using a mobile phone as a wifi hotspot to be a better option. - depending on signal.
