See what the Sky checker says for your line/exchange >

thanks for the reply, ive done that already and only shows estimates between 1.5 to 4.5mbps which is faster than when i checked it last month, there estimates last month was 1.5 to 2 mbps which is the same as bt wholesale checker so that made me think that adsl2+ was available but wasn't sure so checked lines closer to the exchange to see what there estimated speed was and it was around the 19mbps mark so they must have adsl2+ i just hope sky don't say im better of on adsl because of my line length

Sky Broadband Connect

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

I can only get the "Broadband Connect" package, no Sky LLU provision in the exchange my line is connected to.

That there is another reason what made me think there equipment is in my exchange as i no longer get that recommended connect package like i did last time. It also stated when i checked last month that they would be in my area within a couple of months the reason for checking again to see if they were. But it does seem they are.

If you click Accept and scroll down you should find details about upgrades at your exchange and if they have anything planned.

On a long line you may actually find ADSL is better and more stable than ADSL2/2+.

Can't not try it though smile

38.5 Line attenuation with a current sync speed of 7.100 Mbps

I'm hopeful for a speed increase if not on download as i'll most likely get a speed increase on upload whatever the case.

The estimates you mentioned earlier don't match those line stats. With attenuation like that on ADSL you should be looking at a bit of an increase in speed with ADSL2+ so in that case it is likely to be a good move.

If you're happy with Sky then that could be the only way to get the better speeds in the near future so could be very much worth a switch.

Yeah the estimates are never to be trusted on my line lol, according to bts availability checker i should only get 1.5 to 2 mbps, im currently getting what i just said so yes i don't trust it to much

Just had the engineer out to install my second lines socket, asked him if sky has their equipment in my exchange he said yes so im a little excited to see the difference in speeds between adsl and adsl2/+
