In reply to a post by MrSaffron:
No one is saying if you spot those numbers that it is wrong for you to call them, but promoting them in your words as "These numbers that engineers use to phone into BT and OR" on a public forum is not going to help anyone, other any get an engineers mobile re-numbered.

The procedure if you do not know it when you have a fault is
1. If its voice related to call your voice line rental provider
OR
2. If its broadband related to call who ever supplies your broadband

This is important in a LLU world, because Openreach do not have access to LLU providers hardware or status logs, so before Openreach becomes involved the LLU providers would check that they themselves do not have a fault e.g. dead line card port on their MSAN.

You really are as stupid as you look aren't you. You KNOW very well I was not reporting a fault. You ALSO know very well, as I have stated MANY times, that the only reason I phoned the number being called on my phone, was because I though I may well have intruders while we were 400 miles away. WHAT do you not understand about that, or do you not want to, preferring to treat me like a child, telling me to adhere to procedure. Now why not do something useful, and program in a facility for users to unhook themselves from this place permanently, instead of the few days you give.

I phoned the mobile number shown and got through to what seemed an OR control centre. had a long chat, with the guy telling about all the problems in my area

Which options did you then take, the guys and gals who do the Openreach control stuff ain't got time to waste talking to punters. Me, I'd say you are fibbing.

Andrew is mellowing with increasing age. We'll be seeing these forums switching to a larger font size soon.
