My concern is that by treating them like you treat them means your now on their level, e.g. being child like. Perhaps being confident that your not a fibber and idiot means one could stand by and rise above that.

Just saying thats all since it would be great to have the mixed views this forum brings .. but without the aggression.

I am of course not telling you what to do, and by all means feel free to call me an idiot or stupid or what ever if you would like.... I don't know everything and sometimes being human I get things wrong.

2nd post, and absolutely correct. Seems to have been ignored amongst all the drama though! Openreach's customers, when it comes to fault fixing, are the ISPs and not the end users.

So correct me if I'm wrong here but the moral of the story is...

That a 3rd party device being used on a line has detected a number (mobile) being called, even though nobody was meant to be at the premises...

However this call hasn't appeared on any bill that's known of yet and it seems to be a number that is related to BT/OR and is a private line, more likely used for maintenance or tests..

if this is the case, then BT/OR either broke into this person home to use there phone whilst away or the call blocker or monitor thingy has managed to pull information from the external side of the line which I'm almost sure Openreach / BT will frown upon and potentially mark the device as a potential hazard to their network or even neighboring connections..

Also whats the chances that this call detector device hasn't picked up or overheard another line and stored this number..

Why would I call you stupid. You are expressing yourself politely. Going back the best part of 60 years, I used to regularly hear 'Do as you would be done by' from my teacher - Treat others as you would wish to be treated in other words. Something I always try to do until I feel they deserve to be treated otherwise. I was brought up in a different world to the mad PC place it now is, where folks had good manners and actually helped others. That is certainly not the case for a significant part of fora, where many who are well up themselves thrive on talking to others as if dirt, along with dismissing everything out of hand as a matter of course. Unfortunately, very little is ever done to sort those that kick these things off, with those with the big stick seemingly sitting back and enjoying it until totally out of hand. The six stone wet through anorak with his computer balls don't bother me. I will happily take a ban to take them out with me ... Down to their level possibly, but it keeps me from wrecking phone boxes
