I wouldn't say they are having a laugh. They aren't that sort of firm.

How do we know this??

I've seen nothing to support that, personally i think they are a one of a kind provider that currently owns a corner of the market (no contract FTTC) and until there have competition they will take as much advantage of that as possible...

I also thought providers like this where supposed to give good support, however it took me 3 months of regular communication attempts to get an answer from them and I had to get in touch with their parent company to pass a message of for that to even happen...

Apologies if these views aren't agreed with by others but these are the facts...

On the other hand, a dozen or so here get almost instant and sensible responses from them.

You repeatedly seem to have problems. As you did with Plusnet, and IIRC your previous ISP.

That's strange.

The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.

Erm pardon!

I had no issues contacting Plusnet or any other providers thank you very much,

I will take this as you have no evidence to back up that Pulse8 "aren't that sort of firm"

PS, On an unrelated note I've seen a few posts in the past that state that Pulse8's service is prioritised over TalkTalk's Business service.... now why the hell would TalkTalk do that.... they might match the priority but I highly doubt they would put a 3rd party before there "family" lets say!

Anyway, bed time night smile

It's for fibre, however it could be that the person I spoke to didn't take into account the fact that when I said new line that actually meant a new drop from the pole to the house.

I wouldn't say they are having a laugh at all. It could be a plain and simple mistake which is easily rectified.

Also never had a problem contacting and the phone is picked up very quickly and email is responded to promptly as well.

Their activation fee of £75 appears to be the same for a "self install" using an existing modem or for an engineer visit inc supplying a modem.
Found the list of boltons reasonably clear - at least I didnt have to go searching for it unlike with many other ISPs.

As TalkTalk Business is essentially ran in a similar way to the old Tiscali network with regards wholesale, yes it is possible that resellers can buy higher QoS than TalkTalk residential, the reseller decides what grade of service to pay for, same, better or worse and many variations in between

The Having a laugh could of been replaced with a better phrase, it didn't refer to them having a laugh at your expense but rather them taking advantage of their one of a kind service and inflating costs to get connected to their service...

So why do they charge £45 more than any other provider (small or large) to connect you using existing setup??? specially as migration costs these days are supposed to be as low as free (at wholesale level)

Yes, "Residential" but I'm talking about it having a higher priority than TalkTalks own Business products.

Also the same applies with TalKTalk business i.e. even their own business products use different QoS variables

The only issue I now have is that I would be charged £90 for a line installation and then £125 for a fibre installation. Doesn't make sense to me as the BT OR engineer needs to run the line, work at the exchange and the CAB anyway.

I actually just rang TalkTalk business and for a similar package which includes unlimited calls to UK landlines (01,02,03) and mobiles plus caller ID is £54.60 a month (inc VAT).

Now that is locking you into a 24 month contract but the connection fee is only £60 for a new line:

Complete Fibre (Free Installation)
 Unlimited Fibre (speeds upto 80mg)
 Free Wireless Router
 Unlimited Landline Calls
 Unlimited Mobile Calls
 4 Static IP's
 Industry Leading Network Security, Worksafe
All Inclusive Price- No Bill Shocks
Business Call Features (call divert, call waiting, caller display etc)
 Line Rental
24 Month Contract
£45.50 ex VAT (£54.60 inc VAT)
One off connection fee £50 ex VAT

The question is, what value does a rolling monthly contract have?

plusnet Unlimited Fibre (FTTC) > Sky Fibre Pro Unlimited. 15ms Ping, Sync ~ 68.93/18.83Mbps
