Can't believe how nervous i am, hope i can pull myself together before next Tuesday!!!

No problem, if they ask at the assessment day then tell them but they will normally ask if/when they ring you to tell you that you passed and offer you a job. They'd just knock you're training back a bit if they were wanting you to start when you're on holiday.
Can't really think of anything else at the minute but I know they really want to be seen as for women too so you might have more of a chance than the blokes! Lol.

Mention the holiday after you are offered the job. Don't mention it at the interview.

Agree, your new manager should honour that. I've seen people asking a bit too many questions about pay, and it just doesn't make a good impression in an interview. If you want to know about pay then it's probably best to ask those questions on here.

Had my assesment centre today and the interviews were actually ok, helpful interviewers who weren't there to trip you up. As simple as its sounds and even with the countless times I've wired a plug I think I may have messed it up?! All wires to correct connections no copper showing, screws tight etc but I I had to cross a few wires to get them to the correct terminals!! Just hope their not to critical! Will think myself lucky if I've got through!

I really enjoyed the assessment. They all made you feel relaxed and had a laugh at the same time. You'll be fine I'm sure... just do a bit of preparation. Good luck for next week!

I had my assessment today, in Plymouth. I sent Openreach my application around half a year ago. 16 of us were there and all of us were told if we make it we will be Service Engineers as that is the role they require.

Seeing all the people who got offered jobs in this thread gives me hope but I still worry about being turned down. I felt like the first interview went ok but the second one I found a bit harder. Sometimes during a question about what I would do in a certain situation I would answer and they would keep asking what more I would do and sometimes it felt a bit hard to answer though I was always able to give an answer. What helped is a couple times the interviewer reexplained in a different way or dropped hints and when he did this I was quickly able to give an answer that he seemed happy with. Other than this everything else didn't seem too bad.

From the sounds of what we were told your application to Openreach is screened and if suitable they email you to invite you to the assessment, which is the final stage. I was thinking that since they take a photo, driving license, passport and proof of address of all attending that your chances of getting the job are good? It looks like they're taking on a lot of people, do you think that most of the 16 people who were there will be offered the job or only a few? The 16 of us were from all over the place, mostly far apart, and I was the only one from my area, a rural town. The closest guy to me lived at least 1 hour 15 minutes away (60 miles).
