Yea I know what you mean, I hate waiting for anything! Haha.
How much notice you gotta give?
I've just been doing casual work for a while as I started a full time job around the same time OR finally got back to me and wanted to do a phone interview and then assessment day. New job wasn't happy with me needing a day off for that reason and weren't happy to keep me on for 2-3 months until I started OR IF I got the job, I told them I might not even get it but they weren't having it so basically told me to pick between the two... I chose OR, much better money and job!
So because of this, I don't have any notice to hand in.

So far at Yarnfield everyone has been so relaxed and friendly. So many trainers/managers which I am not used to. I'm used to everything on being on such a tight budget and things don't seem to be here!
The food in the restaurant is actually really good and lots of variety. Eating 3 proper meals a day is new for me, never eaten so much! Good bar where people seem to end up!
Not much going on in the area however, its fairly remote so bring laptop/tablet etc as the wifi seems good so far.

I have my driving assessment tomorrow but some of the group did theirs today and apparently it is not seen as a test, if anything, it's there to assist you in improving old bad habits and if you have never driven a van before, get comfortable with it and drive for some extra time if you wish to get your confidence. Apparently no one has really been told they cannot continue according to the managers.

As for a finishing time on the Friday, 12pm has been mentioned as there is a lesson on kinetics (how to carry heavy objects etc) in the morning and the vans are to be collected somewhere near Leicester so they take you there on Friday in a coach with all your kit (i've got 2 boxes full of kit, a holdall full of more kit and my luggage!)

Sounds great! Reading that made me want to get started already! Thanks for keeping us all updated, its all really good information to get us prepared. Dan- I only need to give a weeks notice but was planning on having a bit of a cheeky break in between jobs to go away somewhere with the family so would be nice to be able to plan!

Hi Guys,

I attended the assessment center in the morning session on Tuesday 8th March and was successful. I am due to start my training on the 23rd May in Yarnfield for one week then the rest in Harrogate, cant wait!

I know theres a bar and stuff on site, I was wondering if there is a gym anywhere nearby?

Although by the sounds of it there's going to be a lot of stuff to carry/transport so might leave it for the first week laugh
