And the kitting out is outstanding! No space is lost.

Impressive, until you realise that there is [censored] all space for carrying anything 'extra', or for those that have additional skills and therefore need extra 'stuff'.
Not enough space in the back I reckon.

I do remember getting my first tranny, in the old grey livery with the piper logo. There was an independent diesel heater which you could set up to defrost it for cold mornings, it also warmed water to wash your hands with a bowl which flipped down on the rear door. The cassette player was cutting edge too !

Look after yours, you'll have a long time, and it'll have to become your second home.

You still working at openreach? I am on a week off training and on patch and the lad that I working with has a fiat doblo maxi and we spent our dinner 40 mins sorting my van out and was very impressed and we managed to knock out 6 faults today so what is bad with that?

There is space for kit in these new vivaros. All of the new 'recruits' are going through the new training for CALOMI training.

And yeah there is still 'extra' space for UG stuff

That heater sounds good though! These have gone mate!

The big new vans are good. The large high roofed Fiats. Microwaves in them, etc. Whilst we are stuck with the new Vivaro regardless of the actual job we do. I imagine things would be very tight if you had to carry the fibre splicing gear for FTTP also.

Hell yeah, I've only been on 19 years !

Take the snips while you can, and remember, not all the jobs will be that easy ... and if it appears all the jobs your buddy picks up are either snips or he throws them back, well then I would politely suggest he ain't much of a role model.

And yeah there is still 'extra' space for UG stuff

They are designed for multi-skilled bods ...... tho' some are more multi-skilled than others. wink

You know it girlfriend smile

What really eats up the space is carrying a stock of ONTE's, the fibre lead in's etc, separate tool box for fibre stuff, another for testing kit.

My mate does BAU fibre and has one of those new Fiats, he rates it ......

Hi Guys,

Just for the record I still haven't heard a dickie bird apart from an email in response to me asking for an update. I was simply advised the same as yourselves with buzz words ie. Be patient and next week etc. You are not alone in the waiting game.

Nothing yet, I know it probably will be a last minute job. You have a start date? So are you just waiting on the "official" offer? I don't have a start date yet but in her email she said "its going to happen this week" I really hope so.
