No, I did not know what that chain of characters meant. I do not lie when posting - thank you for the slur.

It was clear that your post was one of censure, but that is irrelevant to them. I assumed it was supposed to give some weird emoticon on an operating system or browser I've never come across. I didn't consider it worth spending time investigating.
What if the OP was a recent immigrant?
A valid thought which hadn't occurred to me, I'll accept that. But low probability.

More possibly a reader may be. In either case I would expect them to have understood the true intent. Immigration is a predominant feature in the media and has been literally for years. Non-hyperbolically, unlike the "millions" in the OP. My quip arose from the sometimes-made suggestion that people could volunteer to take some.

Your medication may explain your lack of clarity of thought. I do not appreciate the suggestion that I may be taking mind-altering drugs. (Now what was that string of symbols again ...? wink)

Are you serious? Do you expect anyone to believe a Daily Express poll on immigration... Particularly one supposedly taken in Turkey?

Anyway, as previously stated, this thread is not the place for this discussion.
Well you started it

Thanks Seb. Point accepted.

Immediately after my post to BatBoy so not having seen this post of yours I did send a PM to the OP apologising if I had given any offence, and including something highly relevant to the advice being given in the thread. (00:07:09, which I'm happy for you or Andrew to read). (Note to others who don't know, site policy is that staff and mods do not routinely read PMs).

Unfortunately I also made my lengthy reply a few minutes ago to the complainer before seeing your post.

Quite. PM sent, which is what I suggest you should have done in view of what you now say.

Thanks all.
Incidentally, just stumbled on this:
http://www.cable-training.co.uk/media/1204/ctts-bduk...
Which looks like a list of all the answers one might like to have access to.
Pity it isn't free.
I sent you a PM just after midnight that you haven't picked up. In case you haven't come across them before on this forum, there will be a flashing red icon in the left of the top menu. smile

In reply to a post by RobertoS:
It is indeed a humorous reference to the immigration debate, and what the Eurintors and Brexiteers are both saying, with neither being anywhere near truthful or honest.

Maybe you lack the correct punctuation to indicate your meaning. Listen to:
Word of Mouth. BBC Radio 4 at 4pm. on Tue 24/5/16. I just heard the last ten minutes.
