Glad its not just me then, Shame I had to apply this time of the year haha.
I guess its a waiting game now, the HR lady did assure me not to worry and just wait till she contacts me! Judging from some previous posts it just takes time!

Yeah hopefully see you guys in yarnfield in January, for what it's worth my job application also says awaiting. Feedback so must be the norm? They must be starting quite a few so I imagine the admin would be quite a bit so not panicking or anything but also keen to get started

Hi everyone
I've been coming back to this forum for a while now - thanks so much to all the contributors - it has been a great help.
I applied ages ago and was told there were no vacancies in my area - Somerset / Devon. Then about a week later I was asked for a telephone interview which I had 4th October. I passed this and attended the assessment day 12th October in Exeter.
We were told we'd hear within 5 working days. I found out 18 October that I'd passed. Can't describe how happy I was at getting this email:
I am really pleased to be able to tell you that you passed the assessment centre, congratulations. You have demonstrated the skills and attributes that we look for in our engineers and we hope to welcome you to Openreach in the near future.
We will be commencing our next round of training from 9th January through to the end of March 2017. At this moment we are waiting for our training group to confirm the locations and dates of where the training will be taking place. Once we have that detail we will be able to get back to you and discuss the further steps.
I'm wanting to move (renting) and I'm a bit stuck as I've not received my contract or anything yet and I've no idea when this will come through.
I've seen that some people wait ages and others its really quick.
Any help or info would be really great about how long the next bit takes. Feeling a bit anxious as it doesn't feel real at the moment.
cheers

Hi everyone, you're probably all bored of hearing this but I need some advice/reassurance. I applied for BT Openreach back in August, heard back a few weeks later asking to do a telephone interview. Done the interview to later receive an email to say that I showed qualities they were looking for but unfortunately there were no positions in my area to offer so to do an assessment day would be pointless. I then received an email a couple days later to say a position had become available and would I like to attend the assessment day. I attented the day and two days later received an email to say congratulations you have passed the assessment but unfortunately there are no roles in my area but if and when something comes available I'd be offered a job. It's been a month and half since then, I've heard nothing back and I even emailed the recruitment lady again asking if there was any new information regarding possible roles becoming available, but never received an email back 2 weeks later. Any ideas what's going on, what might happen? Has anyone had a similar experience? Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sound like everyone has had the same response then, I have no problem waiting a couple of months but I have 4 weeks notice to give so hoping we find out the dates in december! would much prefer to start early new year.

Thanks everyone.
My current role is seasonal and will end soon and I'd prefer not to be out of work. I'm also wanting to move house and as I don't have a contract of employment not sure how the letting agents will feel about this. Got some savings to cover a few months of rent.
Waiting patiently.....

Yeah, I'm hoping they take that into account but a colleague told me they are more interested in customer service skills and say the stuff I know can be taught, maybe he just doesn't want to lose me haha
I'm sure they'll be more interested in the fact that once you start picking up jobs on your own you'll be able to complete more of them than most new starters as you already understand how it all works and have done it before!

Yeah you where right, got the job! Well passed the assement day, waiting on finance signing of on the vacancies and HR finding me a job in my area, like those above waiting it is dragging in as I just want to join the team but realise how big a job it is to start a lot of people at one time so just biding my time to I get the email.
