I was hoping for a January start date. I had my assessment 12 Oct in Exeter and passed and been waiting ever since.

Finally received this 16 November:

Thank you for attending the recent interview with Openreach and our apologies for not been in touch with you sooner.

As discussed, you were successful at your interview and we are currently working to try and secure an agreed training start date for you. Please bear with us at this moment, we will be in touch with you within the next couple of weeks.

Full time job finished yesterday, only have p/t temp job until xmas. Feeling really panicked now.

We all got the same I'm lucky I'm in F/T employment but it has weed on my bonfire a bit but not as much as yours and I'm sure quite a lot of others. Was holding out on my leave till I heard now I have nothing booked over Christmas so am working the lot as it's my weekend on!

It's not good but I know they did mention 9th Jan to march in my first email so I would like to hope it would be in that time frame. What I have found disappointing is that it's not been formally communicated to people patiently waiting if they know it's not going to be until next year. Let's people fill the gap if they don't have a job until training starts.

I suppose patience is a virtue and I'm lucky to be quite patient.

I'm the same mate, working through Christmas and new year as was hoping to be working notice period and use my my 4 weeks holiday in the process. Might get a few days at start of new year if I'm lucky but being a small team it's not as easy being in Treasury for holidays.

Suppose every cloud and all that, letting us potentially finish up a little earlier and be paid as if working full period. Down to your employer I suppose if they would allow that.

Passed my assessment in Birmingham on Nov 9th am too, was told to keep waiting for a start date, then another asking if I wanted my application to remain active! The waiting is driving me mad.

It seems some have been asked if they still want the application to remain active and some have not.

Who have you been dealing with mate?

It was Vince to start with, then Laura. Had to double check with them that they still had my application.
