Lastly and I think most importantly, get to know the people who will be in your training group for your 5 weeks training. There should he around 8 of you and its really good when you all get on well and can enjoy each others company in the evenings. Also when you are in class the quicker you do things as a group the quicker your sessions finish. Some people finish tasks quicker than others but theres always the clearing up afterwards and when everyone chips in you'll find you'll get quite a few early finishes.

Thanks mate, great insight. Sorry if this is really stupid but I'm assuming I'd need to take a suitcase of clothes for the evenings? Did you do any practical stuff in the first week, climbing, wiring etc? I'm waiting for my train times. They said my start date is Monday the 9th 9:00am but I'm like 5 hours away, does that mean I'll be travelling up the day before? It's been bugging me for a while and waiting to find out is annoying so I hope you might know lol. Thanks again.

You can take some clothes with you to wear in the evening if you like, I did. Some stay in uniform until dinner time and then get changed once back at their rooms, dinner starts at 6pm if I remember rightly. I would'nt take too much stuff as you will have a lot to bring back with you such as your uniform, two pairs of safety boots, hard hat, laptop etc. It all will go in your van but you have to lug all this stuff for when you have to make the journey by coach to pick it up.

Your travel will be arranged so you arrive sometime on Sunday, normally by the evening at latest. Gives you enough time to check in and get yourself something to eat. First week is more introductions, customer service stuff, powerpoint slides. The practical things you will be doing is your driving assessment and also manual handling, which is basically showing you can pick up a box correctly.

Just sent Laura an email asking for an update.
She states she is still awaiting course dates still but stated whilst she was only guessing she is expecting course confirmations in the new year with probably a March start date but stated this was just a guess at best and not to hold her to it.
At least it does give us a clue.
Sorry guys looks like the wait continues.
