I emailed Laura this morning to try and get an update as my temp company is giving me hassle about accepting a permanent position with my current placement, but received the same generic response of "we will come back to you with an update when we have one"

This waiting game is terrible. The not knowing has forced me to apply elsewhere. The first start date i get will be the job that i take.

Happy New Year lads!

Hopefully we start to find out stuff soon although I wouldn't be surprised in the office staff didn't start back till the 9th as that's when training starts I think.

If i hear anything I will be sure to let you all know!

When I e-mailed Laura before Christmas the best info I could get was we would hear in the new year and her guess was a March start date and she did state guess!
From a previous statements on here people don't get much more that the month notice of course date so likely to be Feb before we hear I would suggest or end Jan at best hopefully I'm wrong but we must be practical
For those not in employment I would suggest getting sorted as if this isn't happening and if they give you a start date quit whichever job or application you don't want.
Sorry if this isn't the info you want but priorities first as they could turn round and decide to not recruit until the next financial year i.e. April or await a vacancy in your area. As I know how these companies recruit, hopefully it's more positive than I've stated but don't want people putting their eggs in one basket as they could as one recruit stated offer a temp contract.
Happy New Year and fingers crossed for us all!
Hopefully I'm not being too much of a downer but I've also heard they are to invest another half Billion in Fibre through Openreach hopefully it will filter down to us all sooner rather than later!

I am expecting February at the very earliest, really hope its not in the new financial year though.. To be honest I just want a date and to see things moving ! such an anti climax after hearing you have been successful oh well the wait continues! I will email Laura next week but dont hold out much hope!

I'm with you Jack after a very quick response to the interview to now be left for this long is an anticlimax.
Fingers crossed we will at least hear something soon even if it's for a March start!
The new financial year start was quite negative and I would hope unlikely as I would have hoped the money to recruit would have been in this years budget.
Copy of my e-mail from Laura from before Christmas

Thank you for your email.

I am still awaiting confirmation on the locations of the roles and training dates. I have been told that I will get this update in the new year.

At a guess I wouldnt be surprised if start dates were from March at the earliest but obviously until I have an update this is not guaranteed.

As soon as I hear anything I will come back to you, we will work around your holiday.

Hi guys and happy new year to all!

First time posting on the forum and I just wanted to say I'm in the same boat with regards to waiting for a start date. I'm in the north east area, passed my assessment on the 2nd June and had a similar response from Laura as yourself Firsttwodie. It's a killer waiting as I'm dying to get stuck in to a completely different career to that I'm currently in.

Just have to remain positive and keep hoping that the saying better late than never rings true!

Just wanted to say as well a big thank you to everyone that has contributed on here - it helped me massively with expectations of the assessment day etc

I am also North East and passed 15 November assessment centre. Why did they do this if they already had people waiting who passed June?
