Hi everyone

I had my assessment in Exeter in October and like you all I've been waiting ever since.

I'm now unemployed so desperate to start.

I asked for clarification to their last email. This is the reply:

Unfortunately we have no news yet about any future recruitment for engineering roles in Openreach - I would hope to get some info by end of next month at the latest.

My understanding is that we would be contacting you towards the end of February - I expect the next tranche of training would commence in the new financial year (i.e. early April)

South West is one of the areas that needs a lot of work as lots of rural villages and towns have dire internet connection, so hoping there's still a job for me.

keeping everything crossed for everyone

I was told by one of the recruitment managers that everyone who passed their assessment day will be offered a position. We just need to be patient.

Hi, I'm from Oldham in the North West, passed my assessment late October. Have a good friend in BT Openreach who spoke to an area manager who assures him that anyone who has been offered a job WILL get their job, It's just logistics and that the cogs in BT turn very sloooowwwwwly. We just need to be ready to go when the call comes.
