Our 4 weeks in Livingston flew by, might be better if you're going to get more time. You aren't expected to remember everything and be brilliant straight away, it's really to make sure you're capable of following procedures, and to give you an idea of what to do in your buddying and on the job. Again I know you'll need a passport photo for the Streetworks course.
At the moment I'm definitely still learning but stuff has started to click, you start out on provides and possibly faults, quite a lot of simple cab jumpers to connect people to the fibre DSLAMs. My typical day still involves quite simple stuff (when I see what the more experience underground guys do).

How did it work for food? Was you expected to pay and then get it reimbursed or ......

In Yarnfield the training centre restaurant gives you breakfast, lunch and dinner free, food is quite decent actually. In Livingston we got breakfast in the hotel for free and they put packed lunches out for us to take to the training centre, for dinner we had a set allowance to choose what we wanted from the hotel menu.

Just had Disclosure Scotland Certificate back, took 5 days from ordering to delivery.

So you only need money for vending machines and an odd pint?

What are Openreach rotas like?

Yeah, everything else is paid for, apart from if you choose the M6 toll to get to/ from Magna Park. I can't actually remember how much their pints are. Also if it's any help there's a cash machine in Yarnfield Park.
I'm currently on 8:00-16:10 Mon-Fri but there's also travel time and that you have to give. I think you tend to get every 4th Saturday once you're a bit more trained up.

That's 8 hours 10 minutes a day. I take it that includes your 30 minutes for lunch?
