Help finding a ISP

Hi,


I'm wondering if anyone can help me with advice on picking a decent broadband company.

I'm currently with BT upto 52MB

I don't want BT at my new house due to having lots of billing issues with them.

I've been told that fibre is available where I'm moving to in Bury.

I'm looking at Plus net but there router isn't very good so I've heard. Would the BT hub 6 work with Plus net?

What's EE fibre broadband like? Decent router for wifi speeds?

Why not pick either Plusnet or EE and use your own router?

Most ISP supplied kit is average at best.

What's the next Fibre router?

Are they easy to set up?

Don't want to pay to much.

Have a look on these forums in the "DSL hardware" section.

Decent ones start around £30 and tou can pay £250+.

More money doesn't always mean better though

Both BT by another name....

But very different in what they provide.

You could equally say a Bentley or Seat is a VW by another name.

I'm not recommening a provider as of the three I have only used Plusnet, and left some time ago. Each seems to have strengths and weaknesses.

AIUI the BT Hub 6 does work with Plusnet, but it might be a good idea to ask in the Plusnet forum on this site to check.

Regarding the fibre itself, it would be a good idea to check the speed estimates with this checker. Phone number if you know it, address option if you don't. Do not use the pure postcode option as that cannot be relied upon.
